{Review} Mere Christianity Critical Analysis Journal

Now that our youngest daughter is working on middle school classical studies (6th/7th grade), we are continually on the search for quality resources that can sharpen her mind, critical thinking skills, and faith. One author and company which we have greatly appreciated to assist us in this endeavor is Stacy Farrell of Home School Adventure Co.

I am delighted to serve on the launch team for the new Mere Christianity Critical Analysis Journal. This new resource is a critical analysis in journal format to work through the classic Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis.

Have you read Mere Christianity before?

Have you tried working through this book with your middle or high school children?

I was introduced to C.S. Lewis by my husband who is a huge fan of his works. I read Mere Christianity many years ago, but I did not spend time in the book as I would have liked. I am very pleased to have the Mere Christianity Critical Analysis Journal to revisit this classic book again. This time, I am able to sit down with our daughter and have meaningful discussions on matters of faith and practice. The journal prompts with the Mere Christianity Critical Analysis Journal bring about such enlightened discussions over issues crucial to faith.

We live in a critical time that is just as in need of the powerful message of Mere Christianity as the world was when the radio lectures first aired in England in the 1940's.

The Mere Christianity Critical Analysis Journal is a valuable tool to dissect the passages of Mere Christianity and draw out thoughts and reflections through a series of discussion questions for each chapter. This tool can be used in the homeschooling setting or it would serve well in co-op classes, small group Bible studies, family discussions, and/or Sunday school classes.

Publisher Description:
The classic work commonly known as Mere Christianity is actually a four-book series which explores the common ground upon which all Christians stand. It brings together Lewis’ legendary radio talks broadcast during World War II previously published as: Right and Wrong as a Clue to the Meaning of the Universe, What Christians Believe, Christian Behavior, and Beyond Personality (or First Steps in the Doctrine of the Trinity), and provides an unequaled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to hear this powerful apologetic for the Christian faith.

The Mere Christianity Critical Analysis Journal is a powerful tool to strengthen critical thinking while cultivating a biblical worldview. Although it was originally created to be a companion resource to Philosophy Adventure, it may also be used as group or independent study for teenagers or adults.
It provides 10-16 questions for each chapter which can be discussed in:
  • homeschools
  • co-ops
  • classrooms
  • Sunday school
