{Day 9} Squirrel Pine Cone Craft Activity

This week we created a cute craft for the fall. We made squirrels using the pine cones and acorns the children collected on our nature walks.

It was a relatively simple activity. I found the craft idea online, but we modified it for the materials that we had on hand. You can visit the previous link to follow a step-by-step tutorial.

My niece was so proud of the squirrel she made!

Here are a few classic read-alouds that we have enjoyed reading:

The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin by Beatrix Potter

The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes by Beatrix Potter

The Adventures of Chatterer the Squirrel by Thornton W. Burgess

This post is part of a series: 31 Days of Nature Study for Young Naturalists. You can find all of the daily posts linked on the introductory page. I hope you will continue to join us for this journey through October!
