The world is so full of a number of things,
I'm sure we should all be happy as kings.

We have our own secret garden tucked away in the heart of our downtown. On West 8th Street in downtown Anderson, between Chase and Lincoln Streets, sits the quaint little Elmo Funk Memorial Park. It is a wrought-iron gated park with brick-lined paths.

The park contains a lovely fountain, lamps, a covered gazebo, benches, delightful trees, shrubs, flowers, and foliage. It is an enchanting place that we like to imagine is our secret garden.

Our dear friends, Scott and Peggy, joined us for a visit over the weekend. The best time of the day to visit is right at golden hour, when everything is awash with a sun-kissed glow.

The children's favorite part of our secret garden is the fountain in the center.

They love to search for beetles, bees, and other creepy creatures to log in their nature books.

There is something about an ivy-covered fountain, flowing with water, that awakens the sense of wonder in a child. There is so much to discover! So many treasures are just waiting to be found!

If you look closely, you may find something of beauty from God's creation.

The trees are just the right size to explore!

When you are almost three, it is a big accomplishment to climb your own tree just like the big kids!

If you are local to Anderson, Indiana, be sure to visit our secret garden this season. It is a magical place that you are sure to enjoy!

You can even download a Walking Tour of the West 8th Street Historical District and learn more about the historical architecture in the area.
